Phased Rollout Timeline:
Care Cab connects individuals in need — whether elderly, injured, or mobility-challenged — with qualified Care Assistants or Medical students who use their own vehicles to provide safe, compassionate transport. Whether it’s a doctor’s appointment, a social outing, or a quick errand, our companions offer more than just a ride — they deliver support, dignity, and peace of mind.
Care Cab is a care-focused coordination platform that connects clients with verified companions for accessible, assisted travel and errands. We do not provide services directly—our role is to facilitate safe, respectful bookings between clients and independent care assistants.
All financial responsibilities outlined below are strictly between the client and their appointed companion.
1. Base Trip Fee
Fixed Service Rate: From R300 to R750 per Hour
This fee compensates your care assistant for their time, support, and presence throughout your trip. It varies based on:
* Note that an additional fee of R 75 is charged for every additional 15 minutes.
2. Fuel Reimbursement OR Make Use of Your Own Vehicle
Rate: R4.76/km (round-trip)
Own Vehicle: No Travel Cost
No fuel charge: You won’t be billed for travel costs.
• Same care, your comfort: A Care Cab assistant will accompany you in your own vehicle.
• Applies to: Primary trip and any errands you choose to do.
• Note: Assistants may accompany but will not drive your vehicle unless pre-approved.
3. Activity-Related Costs
You are responsible for all destination-related costs, including
These are not covered by Care Cab or your assistant and must be settled by you. Receipts are available upon request.
4. Errand Purchases
If your assistant completes errands (e.g., medication pickups or grocery runs):
Care Cab does not pay for errand-related items.
Care assistants are not expected to carry or fund purchases on your behalf.
Clients are 100% responsible for all item costs.
Fuel reimbursement for extra mileage will also apply. Receipts can be requested directly from your assistant.
5. What’s Not Included
For safety and clarity, the following are not part of Care Cab's coordination or companion services:

The services listed above are available during standard office hours. All bookings must be made in advance to ensure companion availability and preparation. Additional hours outside office times can be accommodated on request, subject to availability and an after-hours surcharge.
